Surprises

Sometimes furniture stores will surprise you! I was furniture shopping this weekend for a project I'm working on and came across this fabulous chair:

Where you might ask? RC Willey! I for one did not know they sold items like this. It was the only one like it in the store. My point is always give stores a chance. They might surprise you with pieces they have that you wouldn't have imagined. Shop around!

Maps.

I know using maps as art {or other forms of decoration} may seem like old news to some of you, but I think it's a classic. I grew up with my dad as a pilot and we used airplane maps for everything. I love them! There are a million variations too. It doesn't have to mean just sticking a map in a frame. Although I do love that too. :)

Wallpaper Wednesday: Plaid

Better late than never, right? Plaid wallpaper rocks. I love everything about this photo. Doesnt it make you want fall to come asap? Remember when I talked about wallpapered ceilings? Well that parade home that I was referring to had plaid on the ceiling and it was so cool. Definitely has to be in the right setting but it's awesome when it's pulled off right!

Today I want to let you all know about the awesome Friday Freebies offered over at Love, Kelsie Rae. I know Kelsie from high school and can I just say she is amazingly talented! She does graphic design as well as photography, and you will love her work. On Fridays she offers a free item to down load and print. It varies from cards, labels & tags, cupcake toppers, prints, and more. I'm a big fan of the prints, naturally. They are perfect to print off, stick in a frame, and hang on your wall or set on a shelf/table.

Open Shelving {in the kitchen}

Florals

Something I learned in my textiles class is that nature never goes out of style. Design has been inspired by it all throughout history...so it's pretty classic. And what do we all love in nature? Florals! Of course the patterns & trends of florals change over time but if it's up to date I think it's fabulous. Here are a few of my favorite finds.

Another UV Parade Home

Clear back in June I posted about the amazing home #14 in this year's UV Parade. I only made it to about 7 homes or so this year but #14 wasn't the only beautiful home I saw. Unfortunately I've misplaced the majority of my pictures that I had planned to post, but here are a few that I did find from one home. {I can't remember which one this was, sorry!}

Part of the kitchen. I love the white range hood, back splash, and the light fixtures.

Huge fan of this table top & the sisal rug underneath.

Obsessed with this bedding & the walls.

I'd love to have a little bench at the end of our bed! These pillows are great too.

Guest bedroom- love the headboard and again obsessed with the bedding. Awesome side lamp too.

This was a sitting area upstairs. Incredible pillows and yummy rug. This home was full of the best textiles!

I think what I remember loving about this home is that it was completely liveable. It was pretty but still comfortable and it was a place that I could picture myself kicking back and relaxing in. Very important to me.

I'm back + Master bedroom inspiration

Hey Everyone! I apologize for my month off, thanks for being so patient!

To start things off for the month of August, I threw together a little board of what I'm currently dreaming my master bedroom to be. Mostly white with a touch of grey and a teeny tiny bit of yellow. Lots of texture. Clean & pretty. A girl can dream!
