Towel Hooks

I've been helping my mom renovate her half bath, and we decided to ditch the towel rod and go for some hooks instead. This is such a great idea, especially in a little bathroom that only requires hand towels. The previous home owners had a 3 foot rod put in a really awkward place. There's no need for a rod that size for hand towels, it looked really dis-proportionate.
Towel hooks are fun too because they come in so many fun varieties. Here's a few different styles I found on the web.

Wallpaper Wednesday- Subtle

Wallpaper doesn't necesarily need to make a big impact. It doesn't have to be bold or colorful. (Although making a statement with a fun wallpaper can be fun...we'll touch on that next week).
A subtle pattern or color (or both) can be just the answer! Here's a few examples.

Keri Russell's Home

Last week I received the latest issue of Elle Decor in the mail and featured in it was Keri Russell's Brooklyn home. It is stunning! The neutral color scheme throughout the entire place is so beautiful. I wanted to share with you my favorite parts.

The living room- so light and gorgeous. And so full of texture! From the fire place to the light fixture and everything in between. It's elegant yet it still looks comfy. Yum.

The kitchen is my favorite part. Normally I prefer white or lighter colors in the kitchen, but this espresso wood paired with the white countertops and walls is awesome. I love the open shelving for cook books and the lights above the island rock.

What's not to love about this dining area? The chairs, the fire place, and all that natural light.

I could only dream of this closet! The rug, mirror, and those shoe shelves? Amazing.

I'm Back & Crib Photos

I apologize for my absence the past 3 weeks. My little boy was born on April 19th and I've been quite busy learning how to be a mom.
I'm going to try jump back into the blog world this week...wish me luck!

For now I'm going to show you my little guy's crib area. We don't have the space quite yet for a full blown nursery, but I wanted to give him a little corner of his own. {Part of it is not shown because it's not quite finished}.

My husband and father in law built his crib for him-awesome! They took wood from trees where my father in law grew up, plained them down, and created this crib. He let me choose any color I wanted for the paint. I'm obsessed with white currently so that choice was easy. Anyways, I love it and love that it has special meaning too. Pretty cool!

I hope to be back tomorrow for Wallpaper Wednesday, but I can't promise anything. Please stay tuned though, I'll do my best!
